Giant cupcake for my baby's 1st Birthday.

It came as no surprise to my family that when my baby turned one that I would do a giant Cupcake cake for her birthday. You see I love anything and everything to do with cupcakes.

So here it is, her birthday cake. Everything is handmade and almost all edible.
The top part of the cake was carrot cake layered and covered with white chocolate ganache.
The bottom part of the cake is passionfruit, coconut and white chocolate mudcake layered and covered with white chocolate ganache and than covered with fondant.

The glittery cherries and candle shaped in a number 1 where my favourite part of the cake.
They were last minute additions that I just did and I am so glad that I did.

All handmade candy to go around the bottom of the cake.

Purple elephant and giraffe Christening cake.

Our baby girl was finally Christened and I decided to base her cake design around her Christening invitations that we sent out.

I had a bit of trouble baking the first cake due to using our brand new oven and learning the tricks to using it.

My first attempt at a extended tier cake. Need to prefect covering such a large cake. The purple colour of the cake is washed out and was so much nicer in real life. Thinking it may be time for a new camera.

Mixed berries with coconut and white chocolate mudcake, layered with white chocolate ganache and than covered with fondant.

Pink Fairy Castle

So our eldest turned 6 this year and she was excited to chose her cake for her party.
She trolled through all my cakes books and decided on the Debbie Brown Fairy castle cake.

So here it is, my take on a  pink Fairy castle cake.

Top tier is Almond and Milk Chocolate mudcake, layered with white chocolate ganache and than covered with milk chocolate ganache and than fondant.
Bottom tier is Choc chip mudcake layered with milk chocolate ganache and than covered with white chocolate ganache and fondant.

Instead of lollies bags, I decided to do vanilla sugar cookies iced with homemade Royal Icing. Each cookie was than given a fairy to go on top.
Been wanting to try stencilling for a long time and finally was able to.

Girlie Dragon cake.

What can I say except that is has been so long since I have posted anything on my blog.
Since my last cake I made I have welcomed another addition to our family.

My daughter was having her 3rd birthday and I asked her what she would like. Dragon cake was all I got from her.

So here is here her girlie dragon cake.

Peter Rabbit baptism cake.

On the day that my brother and sister in law got married my beautiful nephew also had his Baptism.
My sister in law wanted a Peter Rabbit theme and I am overly happy with how the rabbit turned out, but I don't think that he looks overly like Peter Rabbit himself.

White chocolate and raspberry mudcake filled with raspberry syrup and white chocolate ganache. Peter Rabbit and all the vegetables are all handmade and made out of fondant.

A top view of the Baptism cake.

A close up of Peter Rabbit.

My first Wedding cake.

My brother and sister in law finally tied the knot after being together for 17 years and they asked me if I would like to make their wedding cake. What can I say except that I jumped at the chance to do my first ever wedding cake.

So here it is after some trouble with the ganache due to the lovely weather that Sydney has been having.
Milky way mudcake with milk chocolate ganache covered with fondant and topped with a handmade sugar rose. Lots of firsts in this cake. Sorry about the quality of the photo's.
I think I need to invest in a new camera.

This photo is taken at the reception.

Christmas Day

We had Christmas at my cousins this year and I was asked by his wife if I could make my gingerbread cookies as she loves them.
I also made some chocolate truffles, but was not able to get any photo's as my batteries decided to die as I was trying to take some photo's.
